Loom and Miro both reduce the need for live meetings, but through different mechanisms. Loom replaces synchronous communication. Instead of scheduling a 30-minute call to walk a client through a deliverable, you record a 5-minute video and share a link. The client watches at 2x speed when convenient. For consultants, this eliminates "calendar Tetris" — the constant back-and-forth of scheduling status calls across time zones. Free tier gives 25 videos (5 min each). Business is $15/user/month. Miro replaces physical whiteboards. Instead of being in the same room to map a process, brainstorm, or run a workshop, you collaborate on a shared canvas in real time (or async). For consultants, this enables facilitated workshops with remote clients — strategy sessions, journey mapping, SWOT analysis — that would otherwise require travel. Free tier gives 3 editable boards. Starter is $8/user/month. They solve different problems and most consultants benefit from both. The test: if you're doing too many "let me explain this" calls, add Loom. If you're doing too many "we need to think through this together" sessions without a good collaborative space, add Miro. If choosing one: Miro has more unique value. You can record a screen video with native OS tools, but there's no free equivalent to Miro's collaborative canvas with 1,000+ professional templates.
